I mean, I’m shopping for a scale? I’d like to stand on something, see my weight accurately displayed to within a tenth of a kilo or so, and that’s it. How can I gain information about this product segment?

@mhoye I have one of those app scales but I just never set it up and its "fail" state is you can stand on it and it tells you your weight

@darius I'm a big fan of "fail to normal device" tech in general - "escalator is now stairs, we apologize for the convenience" - but in this case... well, I don't trust them fully but The Wirecutter's recommendation for this seems current and reasonable.
