#Mastodon server mascots are the new Google Doodle

@McCarrick no, that was the hero (which I will probably make a specially cropped version of the thumbnail for since it cuts off a bit currently, see it on https://union.place/about/more) The mascot is: "At least 293×205px recommended.", I think transparency is good on this one as it floats over the bottom corner. Screenshot attached of the default "in situ" @tim Got it, I'll work on it for you, shouldn't take me long if I can find the original mascot as a png. @tim Hows this? I changed the little zigzag at the bottom to be the same shade of red as the server image for consistency. If the colors are too drastic, I've provided an alt that is more in-line with the examples. @McCarrick The zig-zag is actually being implemented as a separate background image, it looks like, and the mascot auto-scales as the frame content changes, so if possible could you just remove the zigzag bit entirely? I think that would work better. I totally want to poke around the CSS to see if I can change the zigzag to be red now though. What's the hex color code for it? @tim oh dang, it was part of the PNG I initially grabbed but it won't take long for me to get rid of it for you. Hex code is 7F0000 @McCarrick https://union.place/packs/media/images/elephant_ui_plane-72f8702db120a51a1cdbc4fb7f5ef59d.svg is the original svg source if that helps. @McCarrick I love it! The background zig-zag is an embedded image so it's not a simple CSS tweak, I may poke at it later but it still looks good this way IMO. Thanks so much again! |
@jeff @McCarrick yeah, I was thinking the mastodon holding the sign from the server thumbnail could make a good mascot.
