"Der Lockdown" is a new word in German, as far as I know appearing sometime last year.

Who exactly decided it should get the masculine "der" prefix? Someone must have decided, or a consensus was reached.

@Gargron @sixohsix hmmm that makes it feel like a nounified verb to me

@cpsdqs @sixohsix I'm not feeling it but then I'm not a native speaker. It's "das Internet" but "der Computer" and "der Shop". Seems like there is no unified rule for loan words (or it is not obvious to me)
