That question just became more vague by an order of magnitude today, when an earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Richter scale shook our very foundation with news of two new companies and transfer of the keys to a Hong Kong for profit…

@tallship umm... can you ELI5? From what I read, someone registered a trademark on gitea but didn't tell the community? Is that about right?

Yes. lunny filed for registration of, I believe, 3 marks. One is fully registered now, and transferred along with the keys (control of the project, as the longest standing owner of the project) to one of the two for profit companies in Hong Kong.

The entire community is reeling, and everyone is just trying to take a deep breath and absorb what is really going on, as we cannot be completely sure yet, before jumping to rash decisions, although we’re already looking at a couple of particular possibilities.

That’s about all I can say at the moment.
