After reading a post by @ajroach42 about Whisper (transcription software you can run locally), I'm now running it on a podcast episode of mine. It's super slow but it seems to work. I guess in winter this can replace heating… I'm starting to wonder whether I should have done this myself. I also saw that podcasttranscriptionist.com/ra has "$1.50 USD per audio minute for 1 speaker". That doesn't sound so bad. Except that I'm doing my part for free so it feels weird to pay others. Then again, I paint for free and pay others for the tools I need, so perhaps it's fair after all. All this money changing hands is weird. Perhaps I'll time myself transcribing a podcast manually. Let's see how fast I am… 😆
