@bascht no that should work, but you will probably want a USB-cable and a USB-connector on your board, if you are designing it yourself. Otherwise there are USB to barrel plug cables.
@snaums interesting. the device (a led lamp that attaches to a mirror) currently comes with a barrel plug, but I would probably have to be lucky and find one that matches the diameter and polarity 🙃
