The shape builder 2.0 in
is almost, nearly, quite a bit... complete. Would anyone be interested in trying it out with a developer build?

@doctormo I think it is confusing to understand when you select shapes to keep vs. shapes to join.

Maybe the joining can be done by selecting the separating paths.

Feels like you can easily drag-select by accident and end up with a different result as with a click-select.

…if that makes sense...

@mray Sure, but I'm kind of not the person to talk to about this part of it. This feature has a UX lead and I look to them to sort out the usability.

Otherwise I'd be going back and forth with different suggestions.

@doctormo I managed to crash Inkscape by playing around with a closed single path that overlaps itself quite often (basically a wild scribble with the pen tool) 🤷‍♂️
