@Gargron Charity is great, so don't get me wrong when I say this but ultimately, Twitch promotes these things to trick viewers into becoming content creators since the main source of income for their users is through donations. It's a marketing tactic that they can feel good about since it's for charity. Take this for example: https://influencermarketinghub.com/how-much-do-twitch-streamers-make/. So, people often do charity to up their viewer count. If you want to donate to [organization], you don't need to aid Amazon's algorithms to do it.

@TheOuterLinux I have been watching the Yogscast since 2010 and every Jingle Jam they have done since 2011, back before Amazon bought Twitch. Twitch has nothing to do with it.

@Gargron And yes, in case no one knew, Twitch is owned by Amazon. The streamers could make millions for charity, but Amazon ends up making several times that just in game ads because guess where you're more likely going to purchase those games? Amazon.
