@Gargron @philvuchetich I don't have input on the implementation options, but I'd vote for either having the float be an assertion of intent in the originating media component (eg a PiP button) or ensure the element is dismissible when it appears in case that is unwanted behaviour and/or conforms to spec such that if PiP is disabled on the client, it does not trigger.
