100 years ago, Nikola Tesla invented this technology and the US government stole it from him. His intention for the invention was to be used defensively, exactly as described in this article. Obviously, there is no reason why the Navy wouldn't use it offensively and malevolently. It is obviously very destructive, especially when aimed at a boat or an aircraft. We have no reason to believe the US that their intentions are purely defensive.

There is almost no doubt in my mind that this is the technology that was used to take down the twin towers. And, it is typical that those monsters would practice on their own people first before they stake their reputation on this kind of technology in the open theater of war.
