@codeberg browsers are hard! happy to test again on the few devices I have if that is useful!

@liaizon We weren't able to reproduce (no Apple customer at hand), but deployed a possible fix to codeberg-test.org. Please test there and report back if it changed anything.

Codeberg.org

@liaizon We still didn't find the issue. AFAIK, we don't use any technology with bad browser support.

Can you tell us which iOS / Safari versions you have? I suppose the latest update to codeberg-test.org didn't fix it?

wakest ⁂

@codeberg still broken, I am on iOS 14.1 and Safari and newest Firefox both have the same issue as I noted before.

Codeberg.org

@liaizon Firefox also has that issue on your version?

wakest ⁂

@codeberg yes, but firefox isn't a real browser on iOS devices as 3rd party rendering engines are not allowed by apple so its really just Safari with the interface of Firefox...

@liaizon Really? Oh, I didn't know that. It's definitely a KHTML issue, we were able to debug with konqueror finally (also using KHTML/WebKit).

I think we got it. codeberg-test.org should already look much better, and we're on addressing the gap between the text columns right now.

Do you mind re-testing? :)

@codeberg you got it! looks almost all there! the only super noticeable thing is this weird spacing issue on the right side of the page. seems something has some padding or margin that are off

Codeberg.org replied to wakest

@liaizon Hmm, that part is not reproducible via konqueror and likely a different bug. Does it also happen with other codeberg pages (not only the landing page)?

wakest ⁂ replied to Codeberg.org

@codeberg only seems to show up on the landing page. I tried a few other pages

wakest ⁂ replied to wakest

@codeberg It doesnt show itself right away, only when you start scrolling around or if you zoom in and then out with two fingers

Codeberg.org replied to wakest

@liaizon Sounds weird. Do you see some element that is larger than expected (filling the screen size / overflowing to the right)?

wakest ⁂ replied to Codeberg.org

@codeberg no there is nothing I can see sticking out. I think it might be some issues with how the scroll bar is theme-able on mobile browsers. I wonder if you try 0ing out all default padding on the hovering scroll bar. forget what the css for that is but thats my first guess.

wakest ⁂ replied to Codeberg.org

@codeberg yep you found it! what was the issue that was causing the gap?

Codeberg.org replied to wakest

@liaizon Can't answer that. We have found a frontend engineer to spend all night on that. I'm not home in the frontend-CSS-browsers-are-crazy world :)
