Just saw the headline "Elon Musk accused of making what appeared to be fascist salute" from CBC. Is mainstream journalism too cowardly to call a straight up, broad daylight nazi salute for what it is now? How can you still be in denial about it?

@Gargron The CBC isn't even the worst; at least they acknowledge that it might be a "fascist salute." The New York Times headlined an article "Elon Musk Ignites Online Speculation Over the Meaning of a Hand Gesture," as if the paper didn't exist in the 1930s and 40s. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/20/us/politics/elon-musk-hand-gesture-speech.html?smid=tw-share @Gargron Hi, I'm Erik. Yup. Which makes it a pretty good thermometer surrounding anything else they report these days. |
@Gargron It is only a Nazi salute when given in a specific region in Germany otherwise it is a “remarkable gesture”.
