@BrodieOnLinux I don't think it's explicitly illegal to license Uutils as MIT. So I don't think people who prefer Free Open-Source Software over just Open-Source have a legal leg to stand on there.

It's still a "sleeping with the enemy" kind move though, IMO.

@BrodieOnLinux Other than that, I like the idea of universal Unix coreutils written in modern language though.

@drq @BrodieOnLinux without permissive license such utils may not be included by default in some operating systems.

It wouldn't hurt that much tbh, it's just a console utils.

@a1ba Fair enough. With so many different *nix userland implementations, it's kinda water under the bridge at this point. I wonder though, if it does open more attack surface for EEE if adopted with permissive licensing as-is.
