Oh, those halcyon days of yore... it was a simpler time. Before Musk. Before the Empire. A noble Internet, for a more civilized age.
...of course it was also the 90s, so we had stuff like LA riots, the AIDS epidemic, the Rwandan genocide, and shit times in terms of the acceptance of LGBTQ folks.
...but at least the Internet was a happy place.
