 @NatureMC LLM and GenAI for content. I'm fine with actual scientists using ML responsibly :P  @NatureMC @alxd Or for that matter, AI for plant recognition apps is very useful! You still have to consider the IDs as just a suggestion, but they are often very good at picking up small details in photos. One of my favorite things about iNaturalist is when I take a photo of a plant and it asks me if I’m looking for an insect — which is on the plant and in the photo, but which I didn’t even notice.  @alxd stuff like that's kind of why I stopped bothering to look for solar punk groups and conventions. Far too many are organized by people obsessed with the greenwashing aesthetic without considering what they're doing, even if they're well intentioned 🫤 |
