As a kid I never thought about making such a construction with moving tracks. But why not reversing the loco to make it high-speed?

The funniest one I have in mind would be that the whole upper circle manages to dislodge and start taking off across the carpet with the locomotive on top still on track and circumnavigating it off into the great beyond

@Pepijn This is just so true. We got our toddler some Duplo for christmas and ever since either my husband or I am playing with it. So much fun and the child loves it.
