@The_Icarian And a miniature model guillotine to put on your coffee table, as a reminder

@The_Icarian

I say cap it to 1mil

That used to be enough to have a happy easy life for the rest of your days. If no individual could own more than 1 mil we would see deflation and everyone's buying power would rise.

I think corps and companies should be capped too, like maybe 100mil in all assets

I think it's especially important to include property (i.e. land) in this calculation

I'm sure people will try some shit to get around this and loopholes will need to be dealt with (like having a group of companies all valued at 100mil that act effectively as one company, for instance,) but it probably wouldn't be difficult to find and patch up a lot of loopholes if the will to do so is there.

Or, we give you the choice that, for every $1Mn beyond $999Mn, we start removing body-parts, joint-by joint (hell, give them the choice to start with toes or fingers)

@The_Icarian The problem is that you can still use that money to buy a few politicians, a couple of think tanks and a newspaper or two.

In a few years, you push the Overton window, shift public opinion and the cap is repelled or a work-around is made available.

Don't get me wrong, it would be a great start, but in the end *any* concentration of power is a threat to freedom and democracy.

@The_Icarian we should stop at 999k though. A million is already too much.

@The_Icarian Can I have a rollercoaster named after me instead of a dog park? ๐Ÿ˜‰

@The_Icarian this doesn't work since most of their assets are not in cash and can't easily be liquidated. how about instead we just disown people entirely once they get to 1B. or probably at an earlier threshold tbh
