it's so funny to be on other social media platforms where "%platform% meta" actually means things related to how the platform functions

and then there's fedi where people call literally any kind of discourse "fedi meta"
where did we go wrong

@ptrc fedi was a mistake, we should just burn it all down and try again

@sophie @ptrc yes... maybe with a non-federated system... and in order to pay for the server costs, we could have people pay us to show users specific messages that they want users to see! like their products, for example...

@ptrc There's no system to game, no content that gets pushed to the top to milk for updoots.

boosting because for a second i considered adding "fedi meta" description to a post related to how Mastodon instances send invalid POST requests to mine

and then i realized it would drown in the sea of posts people are making right now about whatever's going on

@ptrc

i think i dont really like bananas that much

small, primitive, wingless
@ptrc that's how i used "masto meta" the first couple months i was on fedi (on mastodon before i even knew anything else existed for activitypub)

it was an unhappy awakening to find that it just means drama here

but i can see how it evolved that way with blocklist discourse and stuff though

@ptrc it mostly makes sense as ‘fedi moderation meta’, ‘fediblock meta’ though
