@GossiTheDog Is it time to email flood clients of that company? I mean, such ad should cost at least one company it's existence. @samofhearts @GossiTheDog @rhys Nice photo! 👍 Sadly but true… I predict that in just 5 years, we'll have AI coworkers as competent as your average IT employee. Give it another 5 years, and we'll have robots doing every imaginable job. By then, we should definitely tax these new "employees" to fund a basic income! #CyberpunkVibes #DigitalArt #FutureTaxation #BasicIncome @420 @GossiTheDog @rhys Nope, that's the scam narrative they want and you're being a tool promoting it for them for free. The truth is "AI" is entirely useless for anything but scamming investors and management class and fucking over everyone else in the process with the recession it will bring when, as anyone with half a brain could have predicted, it doesn't actually work. @Monsieur_Lepetit @GossiTheDog @kkarhan Deus Ex mentioned, activating interest mode @Monsieur_Lepetit @GossiTheDog @kkarhan hmm so the first thing i noticed is that i walked right past that spot earlier today the second thing that comes to mind is, when i moved here, the dichotomy between extreme wealth and extreme poverty in SF, in such close proximity, and in large part due to the tech industry's negative impact, reminded me of the absurdity in DXHR of having pricey apartments right across the street from derelict row @beka_valentine @Monsieur_Lepetit @GossiTheDog what if I told you we're closer to 2027 and 2029 than both #DXHR & #DXMD are from today and their release dates? - So where are the fucking augmentations then? wants orange tinted glasses and a real-life HUD @kkarhan @beka_valentine @Monsieur_Lepetit @GossiTheDog Colour me a luddite if you prefer, but I'd much rather not have those orange-tinted sunglasses implanted into my skull. @theogrin @beka_valentine @Monsieur_Lepetit @GossiTheDog OFC not as implant. - noone asked for this! Tho I'd be happy chowing down boxes of energy bars if that means I can cloak myself and see through walls... - Maybe that's why ALDI has those tubs of "Whey Protein": It's "CyberBoost Pro Energy"... Ah, SF . . . More context, if folk are curious: > Stop Hiring Humans https://gizmodo.com/ai-firms-stop-hiring-humans-billboard-campaign-sparks-outrage-2000536368 This is, of course, the promise of much of the AI hype. Hugely over-promising, IMO, in a lot of arenas. @dusk @GossiTheDog "Overpromising" is putting it very generously. It's an outright lie/scam. "AI" requires hiring more humans to fix the shit it makes than it would have taken to do the job right to begin with. If anybody is wondering this advert is real, it’s running in San Francisco. The company is called Artisan. If you google them, all the reviews are horrible and suggest they are a scam company. @GossiTheDog yes, but also is it possible to scam VCs? Moving their money from their mitts is always good. Let them fight, etc @GossiTheDog my understanding is, it makes no sense for any of these startups to actually build or even necessarily run models themselves so the only novelty is in marketing and maybe a lora? its basically repackaged chatgpt api calls at varying markups? @GossiTheDog Greedy people get fooled by AI Scams seems to be a perfect sarcasm and satisfy story for me. @BobbyD @GossiTheDog Yup. Anyone who reads "Artisans dont complain about work-life balance" and hands over their money deserves to get had. @GossiTheDog TBH it's good that's real, it needs to be real now because that was always what they meant when they were calling it "cost efficient", still average people were thinking they could be part of this future. It never were others taking jobs, it always were companies giving jobs to the cheapest option, trying to let the poorest take the blame. With this ad, it's not working like that anymore @GossiTheDog people outside of San Fran need to see this. It's amazing how the inside of the echo chamber looks. @GossiTheDog #Alt4You an actual real life billboard advertisement that says "artisans won't complain about work life balance" - "the era of AI employees is here". From the company Artisan, who presumably make some hacky LLM riddled bullshit software. @GossiTheDog I’m fairly sure that’s less of an ad and more of a threat. (And also a scam, ofc.) @GossiTheDog alt text - Photo of a San Francisco street with an avertisement for an AI company named "Artisan". It reads "Artisans dont complain about work-life balance. The era of AI employees is here". An unhomed person is sitting on the curb next to the sign. @GossiTheDog I miss that guy on Twitter who did the #CyberpunkIsNow tag, compiling things like this. @GossiTheDog Sickening Irony. Artisan literally by definition means, "a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand. where can I transfer to the NonAIverse? @GossiTheDog did you shoot this? If so, wow, it strangely gives me hope humans have the resilience to still "see" in a world of total despair. If anything saves us, it'll be that capacity. Sadly for the person on the shot, they've lost it. Let's hope it comes back for them. A community or rehab workshop, sometimes these seemingly futile efforts change lives. @GossiTheDog I'm so glad my life about 2/3 over. The way this world is going, I shudder to think of where we'll be in 50 years. At least I won't be around to see it. @GossiTheDog Jesus Christ. I never thought they'd be so blunt. What's next, advertising electronic slaves? NVM, I don't want to give them ideas. @GossiTheDog This summarises the state of AI perfectly. It's not good enough to do your job. However, it *is* good enough to make your manager *think* it can do your job. |
@GossiTheDog yeah it dropped while I was living in SF and after playing through the intro I was like “we don’t need Night City, we have Night City at home”
