Having said that, there's some benefits to people effectively having to choose either;
* actually decentralised social networks like the fediverse (or Nostr)
OR
* pseudo-decentralised social platforms like BS (or Meta's Chains)
It spares us having to deal with "influencer" types who think volume of noise is more important than quality of signal.
@strypey just to throw a different light on influencers as someone who works in social media - the reason quantity over quality is important on other platforms is because of the algorithms on them. A lot of them would prefer to post less but they can't because it's their livelihood and posting less would see them punished.
Sure there's some who don't care and want to post nonsense, but there are great influencers who are pushed to in order to be successful.
