Why can’t frontend devs just be normal? Yes it’s a folder name with () in the name

File tree with “app” as top-level dir, “(tabs)” in parentheses as sub-folder, _layout.tsx file that starts with underscore, +not-found.tsx that starts with a plus

@nikitonsky filesystem based routing is actually very neat

looks ugly though, i agree

Niki Tonsky

@ngalaiko I bet just “tabs” would work just as well

Nikita Galaiko

@nikitonsky i don’t know which framework or what that is, but in sveltekit for example you do [id] to capture path variables in pathname, thought this is similar

@nikitonsky я уже готов уйти обратно в Angular.

@nikitonsky normality is subjective. maybe you are the one in the room with squishy walls

Niki Tonsky

@dotfox no, normality is objective. It’s what most people (by numbers) do. Most people don’t put parentheses in folder names. So

Kirill Chernyshov

@nikitonsky you're confusing normality with normalization. For some people, non-ASCII characters in file paths are not a problem and fit into their subjective idea of normality.
