Gregory's ServerNormie communities will often choose to do things to each other, something that we usually know as "drama". But more diverse communities may choose to avoid that, because neurodiverse people often find drama tiresome and even threatening. They will instead attempt use stigmergy for communication — this is often called "leading by example" or even "doocracy", but can be as simple as bringing a board game that you want to play to a game night.

 This is why you sometimes see desperate people trying to enact "no politics" or similar rules, in a misguided effort to defend from the drama. This is of course insulting to the normies, who suddenly feel forbidden from communicating the only way they know how — through drama — and they immediately proceed to communicate their displeasure through even more drama, often completely silencing a large part of the community who needs that space to communicate. |
The problem is that while drama only requires people to have access to each other, stigmergy requires "working space", an environment that is shared by everyone communicating, can by modified by all involved, but that also is safe and relatively quiet (otherwise the changes through which you tried to communicate will get drowned out in the noise of other changes). Unsurprisingly, those spaces often get disrupted by drama, or by external forces.
