It's no harder than switching between versions of MS Office and people have done that multiple times. But only when forced to by an upgrade, new machine, or new job, and often with a *lot* of complaining. "Why do they have to change things?" is a common refrain when the Save icon is a few pixels further right.

People typically don't learn to use computers by understanding, they learn to use their own by rote.
