@parismarx We currently rely on the US government to provide accurate data on all kinds of things: the weather, unemployment rates, crime rates, accident rates, disease prevalence and so much more.

I wonder how long it will be before the Trumpers corrupt this, like in 1984 when the party reports that the chocolate ration had been increased, when in fact it had been decreased. They didn't do this in the first term because relatively normal Republicans were hired at least at first, and business interests need good data. But when Trump's tariffs blow up inflation, seems he'll probably demand better numbers.
