#Kids are only ever as bad as their surroundings. Every child is born perfect and innocent. 💕

“Every kid starts out as a natural-born scientist, and then we beat it out of them. A few trickle through the system with their wonder and enthusiasm for science intact.”

@madeindex @LeilahLilienruh This is not true. Ok, I learned when I studied philosophy and theology that a human being is a tabula rasa. So every human is good and perfect. The interraction with the environment shapes him.

However that's not true. Some people are generous, good-hearted, non-profit oriented, caring, etc. Some other simply aren't, whatever you do to educate them. Therefore we have egomaniacs, greedy capitalists, serial killers, etc. outhere. It's in their DNA.

That's somewhat a misleading, not informed of the relevant sciences, statement (although wish based beliefs are common)

Whilst it should be self evident that the environment ("their surroundings") plays a huge part in a babies development, so do #genetics. For example, "teens" & "adults" that are non-identical siblings often develop to have quite different personalities, even though they were 'bought-up' (e.g., same family) in very similar "surroundings

While I certainly agree that #DNA gives people certain prepositions and varying physiological foundations. My view is that any baby is good, then their surroundings change them. If the surroundings were perfect & individualized for the baby, they would grow up to be a good person. Therefore, I see it as a failure of their surroundings if they don't. E.g. many people have the #MAOA and #CDH13 genes, but only few will become bad people/serial killers.

Would you be interested in the scientific research that suggests that your opinion is, somewhat, I.e., partially, incorrect.

However, to reiterate, sure, ideally babies should have the environment required to develop to become the better 'version' of themselves. But, "self", personality, has a positive association with genetics.

Also, it sounds religious in idealism, to believe babies are "perfect"

Absolutely, I would love to read more on that. This topic has been a subject of controversial debate for a long time, and to my knowledge, no absolute truth has been established at this moment :)

This book is an intro to the topic of personality differences ( referenced throughout)

The H Factor of Personality

Why Some People are Manipulative, Self-Entitled, Materialistic, & Exploitive—& Why It Matters for Everyone wlupress.wlu.ca/Books/T/The-H-

Because of differing personalities, regardless of the person's environment, a % of babies will develop to be adults that seek materialistic gain (e.g., to be rich) using exploitation (e.g., greenwash)

That's why laws are needed

@madeindex @ScienceCommunicator Then you haven't met people who are really kind and gentle, but one of their kids is the opposite. I guess the environment for all of their kids is the same. But some kids get better with it and some don't.

@madeindex @sslaia

Now you're suggesting that "perfect" babies will develop to be "perfect" adults if the environment (surroundings) is "perfect"

What "perfect" environment would, for example, mean that a % of men didn't become jealous of other men, that were with the women they desired?

It seems that you believe that jealously & rage are learnt emotions ("surroundings") not inherited (genes)

But yea, if cisgender men in general, have access to sex, that does mitigate sexual frustration
