@nixCraft for me , i do $ tar -ztvf <backup>.tar.gz to verify its all there.

my late uncle used to do real tape archives and place the reel (Sony, Fuji(bsf) or RCA) ontop of the stack of punch cards. back in the age of iron core and they had to wear white smocks.

@nixCraft I recently got fucked cause my SSD died, as in suddenly became unreadable, only 2.1 Gb of 2 Tb was visible on the BIOS, in tunisia, SSDs are super expensive (more than 100 TND for 256 Gb, more than 700 TND for 4 Tb) so naturally I had to backup what I could on HDDs, since I own 1 SSD, I could not backup it so its data was lost, luckily, the lost data is nothing & can be easily reacquired in less than a day, meaning less than 1 Gb in size cause in tunisia, internet speeds are shit
