Has anyone ever played this game? I'm told that it's basically a Slavic #NoMansSky from long before NMS was even a concept in Sean Murray's head.

I have it on GOG but haven't gotten around to playing it yet, though I might considering how I've been leaning into my retro games library.

@JakobFel I have, years ago. Pretty decent for it's time, though it can be clunky sometimes. The planet exploration is rudimentary, but the base management is made fairly well. There are also some neat concepts like in-space ship boarding (you can go and gun down ship's crew instead of destroying the ship itself) and ship smuggling.

I used to compare Parkan II to Metroid Prime (due to some similarities of on-foot gameplay), but now I see Slavic No Man's Sky is much more fitting. :blobfoxlaugh:

@th3rdsergeevich Oh nice, a Metroid Prime comparison piques my interest :luigithink: I think I'm gonna have to install it and give it a try!

@JakobFel Alright, maybe Metroid Prime comparison was a bit of a stretch... :blobfoxlaughsweat:

@JakobFel The comparison was general. Like, "walking around planet surface and underground facilities in a space suit full of guns and scanners from a first person view" kind of comparison.

My memories of Parkan II are a bit misty, but I'm sure you can't morph into a ball there.

@th3rdsergeevich Oh nice, in that way, NMS is similar as well. No morph ball should be a dealbreaker but it's not :guilded_lul:
