I spent part of my walk yesterday updating and confirming details for OSM using Street Complete. It's a fun activity, although it must look a bit dodgy from an outsiders perspective.

Thus far, Google Maps is the best for where I travel.

Not disputing your experience at all, it could be exactly the case - but it reminded me of this thread where I compare OSM to GMaps whenever I accidentally take a look at GMaps :)
