@palllyyy It felt like you assumed everyone have used one of the "monopoly platforms". I only use Mastodon/fediverse and see it as the only social media. There is no other. This is not "an alternative" as much as the only alternative. So I left "no answer" for some of the questions. There is a lot of us "extreamists" around here. :blobcattea:

Also, what is a "superior person"? The instance owner?

@aanee Thank you for this interesting insight.

The "superior person" basically means that there is someone with more power than others. I must admit that it is hard to imagine such a position in a decentralised system, but it is meant as a quality ensuring mechanism.

So because of the decentralized nature we choose our "superior person" whether it's the regulations of the country the instance is in or the views and track record of the admin(s).

I feel quite fine with that as I can become my own admin if I like.
