😩 uh, macOS doesn’t support the trackpad yet? It doesn’t scroll or pair correctly

@sdw Apparently it only works on macOS 15.1. Older versions have a problem. I’ve read in an Apple support community that Apple is aware and is working on a fix for the older versions.

Very annoying since I’m stuck in 14.7..1 on my work Mac.

@sdw Yup. This is bad since the Apple site says support goes back to 11.3.

@chrisdrackett hard to explain but the cable was a lot thicker, nicer woven and had very generous end caps and jackets

@sdw wow, I've never see an apple cable like that thicker one, all mine are like the "new" one, even the $$ that came with the XDR. Where is that one from?

@chrisdrackett it came with the keyboard + mouse that was with the Mac Pro! Super nice.

@sdw @chrisdrackett I’m curious about this, because the thicker cables are usually for thunderbolt or power, or something, not simple usb c cables, I thought. Seeing this has me wondering.
They may be more ‘Universal’ now, but they’re not all the same inside. Frustrating.

@sdw Surprise! The new USB-C peripherals require macOS Sequoia, mouse (or trackpad) won’t scroll & keyboard Touch-ID won’t function without it. Took me hours of frustration on Sonoma before I realized this 🙁
