I'm trying to move back to mastodon.social from mastodon.art, but I'm trapped in the "create an account alias" loop.
The mastodon.social account is apparently "active", but I'm stuck at the the "create an account alias" step with no apparent next step.
Where do I go from here?

Why are you going back to .social ?
Do .art and .social even federate? I thought that our mods had cut that particular cord some time back.
