@EmpyClaw they have a great memory for faces. I've heard that some leave out chicken for them but as they prefer it raw I've never tried. They like mealworms too I'm told but the ravens in our old neighborhood wouldn't touch them...

They will talk to you if you imitate their calls. They can even learn words. We had raven that said hello. I giggle when I think of the landlord who threw us out so he could live there, having this raven fly up and say hello.

@Langhamian There’s a pair who take shelter in the evenings in a spot near my home during the winter. I often visit and give them peanuts, but for the most part I think they are distrustful of me 😅

@EmpyClaw they are very distrustful. It took me about three years to get to the point where the two at my old house would sit in plain view. They always hid behind things to talk to me. Eventually they started coming to the back door to call to me and we ended up having a daily chat. They still wouldn't come with 15-20 feet. They are cautious and way smarter than we think. It takes time. If you repeat their calls and match both the rhythm and number of their calls they will start to talk to you

@Langhamian I’ll give this a go this winter. Last year I think they got sick of me. I remember walking by one day, just as they were approaching. One landed and I swear it was calling to say “Jeez, this guy again!” before flying off.
