The more I think about the phrase "Fediblock is a nuclear option", the more I realize, how true it is.
Its existence does work as a deterrent, kinda, but when shit hits the fan and it's time to go to war and you have nothing else, then expect:
- a lot of malfunctions;
- a lot of friendly fire;
- a fuckton of collateral damage;
- the more you use it, the more your landscape resembles a toxic wasteland;
- used enough times, it can crack the globe in half.
We need better, more precise and flexible tools to ward off bad actors. Maybe even on the network design level.
