and also, as someone who understands orders of magnitude, i was just like snapping half the population wouldn't solve resource pressure for long, because half of an unsustainable rate of resource consumption is still pretty unsustainable

not to mention that there would also be a baby boom after people mourn for a while, so the population would return to previous levels after a relatively short amount of time with the same resource problems

so really the thanos snap is just kicking the can down the road
