@KiwiEV cute: slowly killing wildlife be feeding them trash πŸ₯°

Margret Kuarell

@CarolynStirling
so it's an excuse for giving garbage that the country isn't able to keep bins shut?

@KiwiEV

Ngati Pakeha Kuia

@greensofshade @KiwiEV They’re so smart they know how to open the bin lids. Birds are smart.

Margret Kuarell

@CarolynStirling
or people aren't smart enough,
still no reason to feed them trash

patcanfield

@KiwiEV my guess is, they're Not in the bathroom!

Dragoniff

@KiwiEV Cockatoos be eating that like:"damn, it feels good to be a gangsta..."

Ken Wallace

@KiwiEV Sulphur crests are the undisputed monarchs of #HorribleBirds. Respect, tho

Mary-Anne

@rancoisse @KiwiEV
Absolutely love sulphur crested cockies - they live their life and don't give a darn about what anyone else thinks :)

Ken Wallace

@siftinsand @KiwiEV Raucous, malicious, destructive... but respect

Pizza, fresh air, and a wonderful view!
Who could complain (other then the guy whose pizza they stole)?

Deep Mud

@KiwiEV those two didn't eat the *whole thing*, did they? How can they fly if they did?

Anthony Horton

@deepmud @KiwiEV They probably dropped most of it over the balcony. Cockatoos are no exception to the tendency of parrots to be messy, inefficient eaters that drop more than they eat.

stib

@spacelizard
They also love to feed in packs. We had an almond tree that they would descend on every year just when the almonds were ripe, and noisily and efficiently strip every last nut. Those two are probably just the last ones left of the party.

@stib I'm a gardener. I love my garden. I also love nature. Sometimes, I feel nature is misbehaving itself. 😢

@deepmud
We could have netted it, but that is such a pain. We decided that it was just part of paying the rentβ€”the cockies were there long before us.

scrottie (he/him/they)

@KiwiEV (Please pardon the reply: alt for anyone who wants it... video of an empty, open pizza box with obvious signs of recent pizza habitation, sitting on a tile floor outside a door. Captioned was wondering who ate my pizza laugh-cry-face. After a moment, video pans over to two cockatoos on a railing (hallway is open to outside), each chowing down on a slice of pizza, and looking very happy with themselves and their lot. Lush tropical green rolling landscape is in the background.)

@KiwiEV

Only one question left to answer.

Where's the beer?

revphil

@KiwiEV it's such a nice pan from the empty box to the asshole birds

Whiskers

@KiwiEV Brilliant πŸ˜€
Nicely illustrates the not-commonly-known fact that as adults this species are all left-footed.

I only know this because partner is reading this at the moment:
#birds

Lana Sinapayen

@KiwiEV they picked out the tomatoes, they really are there only for the junk in junk food!

Andre Geißler

@KiwiEV completely without awareness of injustice πŸ˜„

Stuart Clark

@KiwiEV

Broil them slowly, with plenty of chicken stock. Open a good bottle of red.

One cocky can feed an entire family.

No. Love them. We Feed them every day although they let the smaller Corellas push them out of the feeding box.

Next time order a pizza liberally sprinkled with wild bird seed!

Alt text: Video first shows an open pizza box with bits of pizza left in front of an apartment door, then zooms over to the left, where two cockatoos are sitting side by side on the railing of the open hallway each holding and eating a piece of pizza. Completely unbothered.

Ann Effes

@KiwiEV

LOL. Have never seen a that. Then again: I do not lay my food on the floor in front of my Appartment.

Not even on the floor IN my apartment.

Wilfried Klaebe

@Ann_Effes The pizza being on the table would not even be an inconvenience here... 😊

@KiwiEV

Michael Vilain

@KiwiEV I was shocked to learn that pizza boxes are not recyclable. Shocked I tell you.

Chris Samuel

@KiwiEV @stilgherrian oh that's fantastic - really made me laugh out loud.

Budgegeria

@KiwiEV And it were only these two birds who ate the pizza and they still can hide their bellies.
