@LALegault Ah, now you see the daggers pointed at the young lady.
I've seen them from the beginning, in the articles that condemned even her climate and environmental activism. If you have the stomach for it, read them...and these new articles as well. Behold the world me and her and all like us must face.
You see, she has broken the unspoken rule that prevails gor autistics whether in the US or Sweden: any benevolence and accomodation our ilk, our people I daresay, receive is conditioned on us being depoliticized, though they are oh so gracious as to allow us the vote. But we are never to publicly opine on public affairs or take any strong stance on them. And we are never to organize into groups that push for our interests.
They're not just going after her for being a woman. They're heaping calumny on what they perceive as an ungrateful ward. After all, has not Sweden let her live after her speech delay? Gave her all the early interventions she needed in speech and occupational therapy? Educated her in the same way as her peers? And, what's this, she dares to lecture us, her betters? Ungrateful wretch!
That is the world autistics and all who mad, intellectually disabled, neurodivergent, etc face. And it's only the icebergs tip. Peer beneath the waves and you find a cruel ocean.
@FinalOverdrive
Now I see? What? We don’t even know each other? Pretty sure I was yelling at everyone in Alberta when they launched attacks at her about her climate advocacy, years ago.
