Another reasons to tut at the Mercator Map projection - how a circle with a radius of 5,000km, centred on Paris, looks according the the Mercator projection

@infobeautiful I'm always looking for new reasons to tut at the Mercator Map projection. @infobeautiful Reminds me of this Korean missile range map blunder: https://georeferenced.wordpress.com/2014/05/22/worldmapblunders/ @infobeautiful On the other hand, people just talking about the Mercator projection being misleading all the time is a bit tiresome. No map projection is without faults. Just mentioning Mercator makes it sound as if you thought Mercator would be the most widely used projection. @tml @infobeautiful I was going to write something like this, but you did a better job than I would have, so I'll just star it. |
@infobeautiful Where can I buy this plectrum?
