@EposVox Well, the more complex the machinery is, the fewer people are qualified to meaningfully run it and not break anything.
I'm generally anti-gatekeeping, but it's important to still recognize that not all gatekeeping is malicious.
You wouldn't trust a layman off the street to operate a nuclear reactor, if you like your reactor cores solid.
The same with social and cultural machinery.
On the other hand, being as open as possible incentivizes you to optimize and cut unnecessarily complex parts out.
