I have returned from my first solo trip into the woods! Stayed out just two nights, alone with my thoughts. Wasn't eaten by any wildlife! I lived!

#hiking #backpacking #camping

Karen standing on a rocky trail with trees and mountains behind them.
A view of a valley between mountains. Clouds are casting shadows in the distance.
A view across Pratt Lake
Kaleetan Peak seen from a distance. It's a craggy peak that looks as though a scoop was taken out of it.

@MishaVanMollusq they can! And nonbinary weirdos like me too. I will stomp where they merely stepped.

@mightbekaren amazing!! Living the dream. I've always wanted to do that.

@nev the biggest barrier for me was amassing gear. Shit costs money. But once you HAVE IT, your cost input drops to just the cost of food and passes.

@jonbro that's Kaleetan Peak, it is a craggy old dude. I've not been anywhere near up that high (~6k ft elevation) but dang is it nice to look upon.

@mightbekaren I just noticed the alt txt, thanks for doing that. I was guessing close to Snoqualmie pass, but it's not the one you can see from i90, right?

Uncle Karen

@jonbro not sure, but I bet you could 🤔 I'm always the driver on these trips so I never get to appreciate the scenery from the road 😂
