@assaf I feel like the office one needs the tragic zoom out with two people on either side on different calls

Alex Boisvert

@acdha @assaf Or more tragically, on the same Zoom call :-/

@assaf #Alt4You: A comic titled "Types of Workers". It shows 3 frames, one for each type of worker: remote, hybrid, and office. All three frames are identical: in each one, the worker is staring at a computer screen showing four co-workers' faces, because they're all in Zoom meetings.

@assaf I see that when I visit customers. It IS real.

Remote. Hybrid. Office.
Each time the same worker in front of the same video call with the same four colleagues.

@assaf that's me during the pandemic, me now, me before the pandemic. Distributed teams ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@assaf the office screen should be smaller.

This is pretty much illustrating what I'm telling recruiters.

Why should I spend two thirds of the year in hotels because the client wants me to finish my IT tickets working onsite (being the guy with the noise-cancelling head phones in an open office filled with marketing people), only to then present the sprint results in person with the key stakeholder dialed in from their car because they don't want to spend 6 hours in rush hour traffic jams on their way home.

@assaf Yes and no. I am the hybrid one and the picture is just a small part of my day. I really like to meet people face to face sometimes.
