@noortjevee @Daojoan I worked for a boss at a start-up. (When I joined the marketing "team" of two people, self-included, the company as a whole had eight employees.) The boss mismanaged things and overpromised what could be delivered. This was nearly a death knell for the company and the technical staff did superhuman efforts to get the stuff which hadn't been delivered finally out the door.
Superhuman like 120-hour work weeks for a month and 90-hour work weeks for two more months.

@noortjevee @Daojoan After three months of health (both mental and physical) damaging workloads the company was saved and shortly after that the boss sold the company off, becoming a multi-millionaire overnight.
He remembered the people who saved his ass, though. He gave out bonuses to the techies for their efforts. The highest bonus was $30,000 of about $80,000 in total distributed around five people.
He got eight figures. He gave out low five-figure bonuses thinking it was fair.
