But I might agree as well with this statement: An English exonym only begins to exist when the English-speaking population of other countries starts using it, and there is written or spoken evidence of its use.
Could blanket this use, say, places in Malaysia in other languages. I mean, it is less likely for a place too far south, say, in the state of Johor, to have a place name written in Thai.
