@nemo thanks, as I mentioned in other comments, I know that there are other alternatives to youtube-dl and other options how to obtain it, incl. github, snap, etc. The point was something else. We need to start pushing back on this crap, not keep looking for loopholes :)
The thing I wanted it for was to help my kid getting a 5 seconds long sound clip for his school project. Unless I'm terribly mistaken this is well within fair use.
