Mozilla Firefox has introduced an experimental Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature in its @FirefoxNightly build, which activates when a video-playing tab is moved to the background. This can be enabled via about:settings#experimental. The feature will be included in Firefox version 130.

@alternativeto @FirefoxNightly given the number of websites that start playing videos on page load, that sounds terrible

@Deuchnord With a good ad blocker, it could be interesting for when watching videos on YouTube and often switching tabs. Remains to be seen. 🙂

@alternativeto I’m not talking about ads, but about all those news websites that automatically load videos about a news you didn’t even ask for while you try to read an article. I don’t know for other countries but it’s very common on French news sites, and they seem to have found a way to bypass the auto-play blocking feature of Firefox.
