@darkrat Twitter and Telegram disprove this. Jury is still out on Bluesky but the lack of focus on digital safety or interoperability suggests it's not looking good there either.

@BalooUriza @darkrat What do you mean? There's a huge and vibrant population of furs on Bluesky, that's what this post is about.

@nidonocu It's also taking a safety third approach with limited/no moderation and went live with no ability to mute, block or filter. It's got a strong start to be a garbage site. Telegram and Twitter are garbage. Telegram and Twitter definitely disprove the "furries an indicator species of online health" and Bluesky has the potential to be a third disproof.

@BalooUriza @nidonocu @darkrat But a large amount of furries have left Twitter & Telegram. I have left both, & only touch Telegram once every other day for a single group chat that I beg to give me some other contacts for them for.

@jackemled @BalooUriza @darkrat you're unlikely to get much movement when it comes to Telegram right now as there isn't a service with a fully equivalent feature set to it.

@BalooUriza @nidonocu @darkrat Email is not a replacement for instant messaging, even if the client looks like an instant messenger.

@nidonocu @BalooUriza @darkrat I agree. Telegram is so bad, but it's still the best user experience.

@BalooUriza @darkrat I mean, personally I prefer it's 'you're an adult, use these community tools to construct your preferred level of moderation' to Mastodon's "you better have exactly the same moderation preferences as your server owner or you're gonna get stuff you want to see blocked."

@nidonocu This is what made Telegram attractive to child molestors, terrorists and bigots and unattractive to adults.
