this picture stigmatizes all Europeans, but among them the majority does not approve of the policies of their leaders. The fact that the majority does not delve into the intricacies of politics and politeconomy is a separate conversation.

@dmitry84 people who claim to live in democracies bear direct responsibility in regards to the actions of their governments. Meanwhile, people who are not willing to delve into politics are implicitly supporting the status quo.

There is no state in which its people would really rule. There is no functioning democracy today. Those who claim to live in a democracy are lying. In all cases, the decisions and actions of the state are only the actions of a small group of "elites".

@dmitry84 that's utter nonsense that's not based in reality. We can demonstrably see that this is false. We can take China as an example where the government consistently works in the interest of the majority, and enjoys broad public support as a result.

Try to find out how representative democracy differs from direct, conciliar. What she is. Study what democracies were in Greece (hint: Plato's democracy is not the only one).
Representative democracy is the antithesis of the actual power of the people.
Demos Cratos.

@dmitry84 ultimately democracy means having a government that implements the will of the majority. How that's done is an implementation detail.

Indirection of representative democracy alone does not make a system undemocratic.

However, I would argue that parliamentary style democracy as seen in the west consistently shows abysmal results. Polling in practically all western countries shows that the policy governments actually implement to be at odds with what thee citizens want.
