@AlgoCompSynth The earlier D-17B computer (the big cylindrical computer from Minuteman I) is the one that was given away to universities and other groups in the early 1970s. (Hey, free minicomputer!) They formed a users group to share programming tips; some of the documents are on bitsavers: http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/autonetics/d17/
