"Ok, so, some context here: This is everyone leaving at the end of the week. The only road out to the playa is a 2-lane highway. To not completely jam it, and to prevent people from burning fuel while idling, they organize the leaving process and call it Exodus.
They group cars into "pulses" of basically the maximum number of cars/hour the exit road will support. Cars at the exit gate leave continuously, and when that pulse has left, every pulse behind them turns their car on, moves forward, and turns their car off again."
Типа как, временная парковка для организации очереди перед выходом на дорогу. Так что, всё организовано, все друзья.
