It is SO nice to lay at anchor for more than 2 days! Dev & I have been walking in the forest everyday, building up our leg muscles again :neofox_googly:

I now have lots of time to work on my little comic, and to advance other projects~

@rek Lol, leg muscle atrophy is real! Winter we got legs, summer we got shoulders (from swimming). The switch is tough :)

@rek I was going to say I'm surprised sailing doesn't keep your legs tough from dealing with the motion, but I'm guessing you end up spending a lot of time sat down rather than dealing with it 😄

R E K

@swift no no you're right, our legs aren't too, too bad, we stand up all day when steering and it does require some effort, esp when there are a lot of waves (we prefer not to sit cause we need to keep a look out for whales, logs in the water, etc.)

@rek mmm, only two of you with lots of things to worry about!

Many grey overcast days... and lots of grey shading. I live in a grey grey world.

a drawing a sketchbook, part of a comic, showing a character that is flapping his hands up and down, as if to urge his friend to stop talking.
a drawing in a sketchbook, as part of a comic, visible is Dae with a frown, he then smiles in a very unsettling manner in the following frame.
The page is in progress, partially shaded.

Pro-pro-progress! Pages 2 and 3, out of 4.

I’m ready to scan and process the comic, but power aboard is too low =_=! Gotta be patient!

Yesterday it rained all day, heavily, we can usually draw in a few amps with the solar panels on overcast days, but not a ton when there’s heavy rain(with heavy cloud cover). It’s supposed to clear up this afternoon. On the upside, I collected lots of rain water yesterday :>!

Finished! All it took was one sunny day! Whew! 4/4 pages.

Gatta smile, smile, smile!

A comic page. Hakazi is upset and Seir is trying to get him to say what about. Hakazi is determined not to say, but Seir makes a guess, and guesses correctly. Seir is being adopted, Hakazi doesn't want to talk about it and invokes "the wall of silence" (which is a moment of prolonged silence, with the person invoking it having their hand up to separate their faces), which they can only use once a month.
Seir seems frustrated by the wall of silence, and lunges at Hakazi, he forces him to smile while telling him he ought to be happy for him.
Seir invites Hakazi to a party his parents are throwing for him tomorrow, Hakazi doesn't want to go, but Seir bullies him into going. Seir tells him that happy people get what they want, before leaving.
Hakazi is left alone, and Dae suddenly arrives, offering something to Hakazi to comfort him.
Dae offers Hakazi some salmon berries. Hakazi is teaching Dae how to speak. Dae understands well enough, but doesn't speak well. Hakazi corrects him on some words, like "thanks", and "you're welcome". Dae asks about what Seir said, about happy people getting what they want (in his short way), but Hakazi understands, and explains that you just have to be happy, otherwise people won't like you, he then tells him that if you smile, it doesn't matter if you're not happy, what matters is that others think you are. Dae tries to smile, but he smiles like a psycho killer.
Hakazi instructs Dae how to smile like a normal person, but Dae ends up looking even more like a psychotic person. Hakazi laughs, then tells him not to bother to pretend, because masking is too exhausting. Hakazi then asks Dae if he'd like to crash Seir's party, Dae then uses Hakazi's own words from before, "NO WAY! GAH-bage PAH-tee!" Hakazi laughs, as they eat salmon berries together.

I really like making these short comics, I’m especially happy that I can do most of the process on paper, it saves a lot of battery power, especially on overcast days.

All parts of the process are fun(shading digitally was very tedious for me).
