@memes to be fair, C++ is a danger to older minds, too.

Blurryface

@memes This is true. I updated my account to my real age, which is 15, and Google said they wouldn't let me ask certain questions or Gemini wouldn't answer it, and I can now only talk to it in English.

This is easily bypassable by making a new account that's 18+

Blurryface

@wuppy @memes they probably just didn't implement the "security" features on localized Gemini, or maybe they haven't figured out how to make Gemini not say unsafe stuff in localized

Riley S. Faelan

@memes "This refusal brought to you by Refusal Concepts, an Omni Consumer Products company."

Gersonzao

@memes C++ is finally being considered not safe for work

Lily

@memes
never program in C without a condom
@mia

genstar.service

@lily T@memes@wetdry.world @mia The C stands for condom

Some Kind Of Garf

@memes Wait, the age of the account itself, or the age you've told the account you are? Because neither works...

wouldn't you like to know

@memes why is gemini kind of right though- like i also dont think a kid should be exposed to that lol

Pelle S Christensen

@memes Well... at least it will be successful in preventing user retention.

Starstorm/Cyberlux

@memes "Kids should be learning more memory-proof languages like Rust instead"

Alien

@memes I find this specially funny because I was taught C at school at the age of 16, the ultimate danger

Rat

@memes programming is a known cognitohazard.

Detun3d

@memes
Se han tomado muy en serio lo de que programar en C++ resulta en riesgos de estabilidad y seguridad.
@Roboron

Luke

@memes THE CONCEPT. YOU LEARNED IT, WE CAME.

VisualPlugin

@memes: they should know that you should be 18.000+ to learn about compile-time template-type constraints.

^-^

@memes it didn't what me to know what is an apple, it said it is complicated

silwol

@memes I love that it suggests traditional variadic templates as an altenrative instead.

Nicro
@memes Maybe a poorly implemented anti-homework measure? That's far-fetched though.
conor, the one and only :clueless:

@memes @chfour it probably saw the word "risk" in some source material and panicked

Wombat For Hire

@memes The AI ingested the old quote that C++ gives you "enough rope to shoot yourself in the foot" and drew the correct conclusion.
